FLLL Rules Page (Parents / Coaches)

Parents may also take a free online course with Positive Coaching alliance sponsored by Little League. "Just as Little League Double-Goal Coaches have two goals — winning, and more importantly, teaching life lessons through Baseball and Softball — Little League and Positive Coaching Alliance aim for “Second-Goal” Parents, who are focused on the “second goal” of helping children take life lessons from sports."

Baseball Bat Rules

Coaches and parents. Before purchasing equipment for the season, please note, that the Baseball Bat rules have changed (in 2018) and your previous Baseball bats may no longer be legal during games. This also effects Tee-Ball. No rule changes are in effect for Softball. Read about it here..

Q&A is available in our Parents Corner

We have additional information in the Parents Corner on our website located in Team Central that might help you before / after registering.

Please read and understand our Parents Code of Conduct.

Baseball / Softball Division Descriptions

For a more detailed explanation of each division your child could / may play in; use the navigation menu, "Registration">>"Programs".

Who can play?

Fort Lauderdale Little League Baseball and Softball is open to boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 16. For our younger girl Softballers, many girls start Softball in the Boys Tee-Ball division before transitioning to Softball.

You must live within our leagues boundaries or attend a school within our boundaries. Please see the section below labeled Boundaries.

Special Note for Minor / Major Leagues (10-12 year olds)

10 year old children who are wishing to play or who have met the age requirements  for the Major League are required to partake in our Major League evaluations. All 11-12 year old children will be drafted into the Major League. 10 year old children who do not make the draft will be moved into the Minor League system. This is inline with keeping the game safer for younger inexperienced players, more competitive for older Major League players and generally more fun for everyone.

All children within the Minor or Major league divisions are required to partake in evaluations and will be drafted during the spring season. You will not be able to request your coach.

Boundaries

Fort Lauderdale Little League Boundaries are located in the green areas on the map. If you live within or attend a school within any of the green areas, then you are able to register with the Fort Lauderdale Little League Program. If you are still unsure if you are located within the boundaries, please download our detailed boundaries map or review the Boundary details below.
